The end is nearing...so lets have some FUN!

This past week has been one of my greatest times at Coe.  The weather is really rainy but we are having fun with it!  I am going to post about 3 fun events I have done this past week including pictures! :)

Coe's annual Presidental Ball

This is a night that everyone at Coe looks forward to!  This is a night where we all get dressed up and head to Eby ballroom on campus and dance the night away.  This is a fun event because your professors and other staff at the college go also.  This is one night that every Kohawk will remember!

St. Baldricks

St. Baldricks is a national organization to raise funds for cancer research.  While participants are raising money and in the end they shave their hears.  My fraternity raised over $6,000 and we even got 8 girls to shave their heads too.  This was a great event held on campus and now we are all walking around bald! :)  Here is the link if you would like to learn more about St. Baldricks!  http://www.stbaldricks.org/

Mud Sliding!

With all the rain we have been having a group of friends and I decided to take advantage of all the mud and puddles and go mud sliding on the quad.  This one one of the funnest things I have ever done.  It was very cold but very worth it!

I got the JOB!

I have excepted my first time big boy job for after graduation.  I will be working at Mercy Medical Center in Clinton as a Critical Care registered nurse.  I am very excited to take on this new adventure and further my skills as a nurse!

 Thanks for reading like always!

Spring!

Hello Readers,

I hope you had all had an amazing Easter.  I got to get off campus and go home to see ton of friends and family.  I also brought a friend from Coe home with me because they did not have the option to go home. It was fun to see all my friends and eat a ton of food.  The days around campus are getting warmer and the sun is shining today.  Although my days left on campus are numbered I am enjoying every last one of them.  I am sure to hang out with every single one of my friends and enjoy out time together.  I will never forget my time here at Coe and will always look back on this wonderful and enriching experience I have had.

Flunk Day Season Begins

Hello Readers,

Flunk Day is a holiday at Coe that is a day off classes to relax in the sun and enjoy college life.  Its a day on campus that no one knows when it is until about 7am.  The senior planning committee runs the halls waking all of campus.  It is always after spring break and we had ours last week so it is officially funk day season.  It is one of the best days on campus and in most cases even better than Christmas morning!  School is going great and I'm glad to be back on campus.  The St. Paddy's day parade downtown.  Its always a fun day in Ceder Rapids and I can't wait.

Hello SNOW!

Hey Readers,

Just as the last snowfall was all melted and the weather was getting warmer we got a TON of snow.  Snow is not all that bad and the best part is playing in the snow.  Last nigh during the snowfall a bunch of us got outside to enjoy it.  Its always fun to skip out on a little homework and enjoy yourself.  Today is not too bad and the sun is shining!  For the weekend I have a little homework and catching up on sleep to do.  I am also going to the rough riders hockey game tonight in Cedar Rapids.  I loving going to the hokey games and socializing with friends and other Kohawks.  Only one more week of classes and we get a week off to relax for spring break.  I will be headed off to Las Vegas with some friends from high school and some of my brothers for the fraternity here at Coe.  It should be a blast and a lifetime memory.  But I need to get through all my homework and test next week, it shouldn't be too bad.

Another Day at Coe College :)

Hello Readers,

This weekend was a great one here at Coe.  On Friday night I had clinical for 12 hours wivh was great because I learned a lot.  But Saturday was of great fun.  I went to the Basketball games here on campus.  Both teams won and it was a whiteout event.  During half time I danced in the Coed Senior dance that the dance team holds every year.  That was fun too and all my hard work practicing paid off.  It was a great weekend and now I am back to this weeks homework which is a careplan and a poster presentation over the research I have been doing on my clinical unit.  This homework is not going to do itself so I better get going.

Winter wonderland

Hello readers,

Wow what a crazy weather week at Coe.  First it was rain, then sleet, then a 50 degree day and finally a ton of snow!  It was a crazy day with snow flying down until about 6 pm.  I was at clinical so it was good I got to stay inside.  It was not fun driving in the snow.  Now it remains to be like 2 degrees outside with a windchill of about negative 30.  Burr its cold!  We have had a pretty warm winter so i guess it was time for snow and cold.  Just think it will hopefully start getting warm in about a month.  Thanks for reading.

Talk to you soon.

Back to Coe!

Hello Readers,

Wow! What a great feeling.  I am so excited to be back on campus and get the ball rolling with a new semester and an exciting beginning to the rest of my life.  It is crazy to say that in less than 4 months I will be a graduate of Coe College and starting a new chapter in my life.  But I have 4 months so we wont talk about that until it gets closer! :)  Classes this week went well and my first clinical rotation in the ICU went great!  We already have an 8 page paper due  on Tuesday but I will be able to crank that out in no time.  We also have a three day weekend because of Martin Luther King Day on Monday.  I will keep you all updated this semester of my happenings on and off campus up to the day of graduation.  That's weird to say but it will be here before I know it.
